If your DD goes to dance (or something similar)
DD's 1st dance recital is coming up and I overhead some talk which is bothering me. Her class is made up of about 8-10 girls (mostly aged 4 & 5). The recital has two shows, 1 PM and 7 PM. A lot of the moms commented that they will not be bringing their DD to the 7 PM show because it's too late and they don't 'think' their child would do well at that time for the show.
I think it is unfair to my DD who is part of a "team" and a "class" who should all be doing the recital together for both times. Will she be dancing solo for the 7 PM show? It's only one time a year, can't they even try...??

I'd be annoyed too. I have to say the dance school we were in didn't schedule the young kids for evening performances though which I thought was a smart idea.

Our recital doesn't start until 7:30 and none of the parents have complained.

Our school only has the younger kids scheduled to go to 1 recital for this reason.

DD is 3 and her dance recital starts at 7pm, honesly i dont love that and do not think she will do well since that is right before her bedtime...if i would have known that beforehand im not sure i would have put her in it, but that is me..i know some of the other moms i talked to dont love that it is that late either but there is nothing we can do about it..i wish they would do something small for the little kids instead

Ours is doing 2 shows also...a 1 pm and a 7 pm. A few moms made comments that their DC wont do well at pm (mine included, her bedtime is 7:30 pm every night - But we are still bringing them. We will have them perform and go home right when they are done. (they are one of the first acts out) I did hear that last year a few moms didnt bring their DC to the 2nd show though. (DD wasnt in dance last yr but I heard this from a few other moms)
