Foods to avoid while BFing?
What foods do you avoid while BFing? I've heard anything too spicy, caffeine, plus anything else that seems to bother the baby. Anything else? Is Splenda okay? What about sushi?

nothing..i ate all and even drank! as long as I wasn't BFing/pumping 2+ hrs after!

You can have 1 cup a caffiene a day and your breastmilk will be fine. I eat spicy all the time and DS seems to have no problem with it. Some ppl have problems with dairy, watch out for any reaction (ie reflux) in accordance with your dairy intake. And of course avoid alcohol.

I haven't really avoided anything, except broccoli (makes DD gassy). I still eat sushi, spicy foods and get my cup of coffee in the morning.

My dr. said i can eat as i normally would. Still limit the amount of caffeine, alcohol and high mercury fish...but everything in moderation is fine.

I dont' eat artificial things (diet sodas, fake sugars etc) and I had to give up dairy b/c ds is sensitive to it.
I RARELY eat tuna. I did twice but won't do it again.
but I do eat everything I love. everything that is healthy. I drink coffee, wine etc...eat sushi (though not sure why this would be forbidden)

I only avoid very spicy things since I noticed it seemed to bother ds and I try not to drink too much caffeine - but I still have 2 large cups of coffee a day
