Re: niagara falls??

My husband and I drove to Niagra falls in Aug. 09.. we had a GREAT time!!

We stayed two nights at a hotel on Falls Ave. (the street closest to all the attractions&falls)... Since you have a baby and will using a stroller I suggest you stay in a hotel somewhat close.

Things to do:

**twice a week (I forgot what days, sorry) they have Fireworks at night over the falls- wonderful, catch that.

**Just walking up and down falls ave. and checking out the falls

**Walking around clifton hill, street with all the great shops, places to eat, etc.

**TAKE THE FERRIS WHEEL on Clifton Hill (there is only one, you cant miss it) GREAT views and CHEAP (i think $7 a person).

**MIST OF THE MAID-- a must!!!!!! a boat ride that brings you into the falls!! (they give you a poncho but be prepared to get WET!!) Its amazing though, you feel the vibrations and the mist of the waterfall!! (I think $10 a person)

**Cave of the winds- another must!!! (enter from the American side) you climb these stairs and you are literally side by side to the falls. Again, you will get kinda wet! Its an amzing experience and doable w/a child. I saw many families w/small children.

ENJOY, we loved it.

Re: niagara falls??

maid of the mist is awesome. you get soaked, not just wet.

also i didn't do it, but my sister did the high speed boat ride and loved it.

i would stay on the canadian side. the american side is boring.

PLACE TO EAT!

OK its kind of a tourist trap but my hubby and I went here. THE SKYLON TOWER Dining Room. Its the tallest place in Niagra Falls. Its a restaurant thats set in a circle layout, has glass windows all around. The restauraunt rotates 360 degrees an hour. You get the most amazing views right over the falls while you are eating. Its pretty cool and def. a once in a lifetime thing. After you eat you go up one flight and there is an observation tower (like the empire state one) and you can stay up there as long as you like.

The food is OK- its good, but expensive. I think for me and my hubby we paid around $80. But we figured hey we are never gonna be able to do this again, what the hey!!

I attached the website.. def. take it into consideration!!

Stay in a hotel overlooking the falls on the canadian side, if you can swing it. The views are awesome. I tried to save money when I took my kids when they were teens and booked one a bit inland. Aafter our first night I realized what I was missing and switched to the Sheraton.

Also, get a room above the tenth floor as the mist from the falls rises very high somedays and can obscure the view. We were on the 18th or 19th, I've forgotten. The view from the enormous window was breathtaking.

Not only that, but if you wake up early you can see that there's less water going over the falls because the river is being used to generate power until about 6:30 when they let it go back to full flow.

We went a few years ago and we stayed at the Hilton, and it was fun! Our room had a jacuzzi in the middle and you could see the falls from the bathtub. Tacky but fun!
