LIPA bill question
My LIPA bill is always around $100. I'm such a stickler for shutting off lights and unplugging things when I'm done using them.
is $100 a lot or is that about average?

Re: LIPA bill question
I really think it depends on the size of your house. I have my LIPA on a budget and it is the same amount every month. They reassess the budget every 6 months and usually 1 month out of the 6 months I don't have to pay my bill because I end up with a credit.

Re: LIPA bill question
Just pay attention to your usage which I think is on the back. We're on a budget too and last year got slammed with a big bill at the end of the budget year to make up the difference.

Re: LIPA bill question
The owners before us had balanced billing at $120 a month, so that carried over to us. Since we don't use as much electricity as they did, ours is now at $70.

Re: LIPA bill question
Our apt is the bottom half of a 2 family house. Our lipa bill is never over $80 and we constantly leave the tv on overnight and usually a light.
So depending on how big your house/apt is, that's pretty good.

Thanks. I wasn't sure b/c this is our first house and both apartments we had included the utilities. I really think that the majority of the bill is from our washer/dryer... i do about 3-5 loads of laundry a week and my dryer sucks and usually has to run twice to fully dry clothes.

Previous owner had very low bills bc he really didnt live here... his avg was like $80 a month.... we were on reg bills for the first 2 months... after having $350-450/month bills, I decided I wanted balanced... They have already upped our balance twice in the past 2 months... Im sure it will all work out in the end... Regardless if we were paying higher $$ bc of previous owner, we'd get credited at the end so really it makes no difference... It not like you are paying for electric you havent used and that money is just going into thin air KWIM?
