Re: Riverhead Schools
I don't know about the SD, but I do know there are some questionable areas of Riverhead, some flooding zones, and some very, very nice areas that are quaint and beautiful.

Yeah I know the DH and I both work in the area for 10 years now - I know what to stay away from haha! We would love to get into Wading River really but there are parts that are in Riverhead Schools...

Re: Riverhead Schools
I *think* you will probably hear some very negative feedback and perhaps for good reason, it's not considered a top distirct today and I know they have had problems-mostly related to the high school. That said, DH and I are also more than likely moving into this district. I know some people with kids in the elemntary school that are very, very happy. The Town is being built up SO much and we are confident sending our child there as I believe by the time he hits the middle school and HS Riverhead will probably be/look a lot different than it used to be or even is today. THis is my opinion however and I could very wel lbe wrong but who knows.....some of the top districxts today could lookdifferent in 15 years too.....I do know when I have told people I plan to move there I do get some people looking at me in shock as though they can't beleive I would send my child there but I am comfortable with my choice. They do also have a seventh-twelfth grade (I think that's right) private school as well.

Re: Riverhead Schools
I would not hesitate,I live very close to the area of Wading River in Riverhead Schools, it is BEAUTIFUL, so many amazing neighborhoods. Over the last 6 years there have been several new communities built with homes priced up to 900,000 in the Riverhead School District. Since they sold those homes it can't be that bad.
We live in a district that is considered "bad", mostly based on rumors and assumptions. Do what is right for your family. If you've been working in the area for 10 years, you know whats going on. Good luck!
