Have any ladies put down a floor by themselves?
Have any of you ladies layed a floor? Either a wood floor or a stick tile?
I have a small room that needs to be done. My dh is out of work since he hurt his knee so I am thinking of tackling this room myself. I know I can paint with no problem but the flloor is making me a bit nervous. Its a small room but slants a bit. Do you think its really hard or pretty easy? Id love to hear any feedback! Thanks!

a none level floor is tough for an adavanced person to install hardwoods or tile.
the best floor to put on over an uneven surface is a floating enginereed wood floor, or carpet if you want a DIY project
the wood is one of those click into each other systems. but you will need to be able to cut the pieces (length only), so a power saw is needed. not sure if you have one or can use one. once you get the hang of the way they click into each other its not that tough, and the floor floats above the the other floor a little so it being uneven wouldn't effect it that much.
you could also try those self stick tile squares

Re: Have any ladies put down a floor by themselves?
I just re-did my kitchen floor over Easter break...old floor was peel & stick tiles that were 14 years old...Dh helped me rip them up...that was the biggest job...those things were holding on like crazy! I needed to use a wide paint scraper & hammer. I laid the floor all on my own (I am a control freak)..they are peel & stick tiles from HD that almost look like marble tile, a bit thicker than the regular ones & not much more expensive..it took me a few hours...you will need a sharp utility knife to cut the tiles to size in places...but all in all for about a day's worth of work I have a new looking room! (i am very handy & have done alot of DIYs)
ETA; after ripping up the tiles my back & legs were killing me...it's apparently a good workout as well Image Attachment(s):
