I like the thick bangs, but thats about it...the cut really doesn't seem all that great to me

I don't think your color matters as much as your texture.
If you hair is fine like the models then yes-with any color.
But if your hair is thick and coarse- it won't look like this...

Really? After seeing your boudoir pictures I would never think you have thin hair.
