infant always cries when urinating, normal?
3 weeks, let's out a shriek when urinating, but goes frantic when diaper is wet. Like loud high pitch cries. And will not stop till he is dry.
Is he in pain when he pees? He can usually sleep through urinating, but always shreiks for a second or two.

I would be worried about a urinary tract infection. I would call your pediatrician.

This was our first suspicion but he has no fever.

Was he circumcised? I would worry about infection from that possibly. Not sure if you need to have a fever with a UTI.

I was thinking the same thing. Is he healed all the way?

call your ped. Just because he doesn't have fever doesn't mean there can't be an infection or maybe the circumsision did not heal right. We have had full blown pneumonia without fever...I don't trust that as in indicator anymore.

Definitely call-my kids rarely get fevers yet have had double ear infections RSV etc. Everyone's body responds differently to infection.

Re: infant always cries when urinating, normal?
one of the peds said she doesn't think its anything to worry about, he just doesn't like his diaper being wet
funny though, after this post, all his pee incidents have been quietly handled
this kid is messing with my head lol
