Anyone buy recently with 10% down?

we are in the market to buy and we were told buy several lenders we only need 3.5% down

we bought out house in august & put almost 10% down, i think it was about 8. we had a VA loan so we didn't have to put a lot down but we scraped together as much as we could to keep our payments as low as possible

Besides cash buyers every one else I sold a house to in the last 4 months is putting 3.5% down and doind fha loan

I bought almost 3 years ago and put 10% down. B/c it wasn't 20% I now have to pay Mortgage Insurance which is an extra $154/month so it kind of sucks. We were told that after one year we can have the house reappraised and as long as it apraises for X amount the PMI can be removed. Well we bough right before the market crashed so we still haven't been able to have it removed

We also bought 3 years ago and didn't put 20% down, but don't have to pay PMI because it was split into two mortgages.
