Anyone successfully lower their Cablevision bill?

Just got a Verizon ad in the mail.....Triple play for $59.99!!!!!!

That's less than half what I am currently paying.
Has anyone successfully negotiated a better rate if they threatened to switch?

Re: Anyone successfully lower their Cablevision bill?

I'm guessing the $59.99 is for new customer's only. You can try getting it, but I doubt you'll succeed.

I did recently call the cancellation department to cancel because they raised my bill $50 after 1 year. I got them to give me my promotion rate plus I think $12 for the charges they were increasing on everyone's bill. Hey, it was something.

does that mean you got to keep it at the $99 for all 3? and if so how long did they extend it too?

No, right now my price is at 132 a month...not the $99 Since when can you keep the $99 pricing for good? I am a member, yet was never told I could keep the $99. That doesn't sound right.

Re: Anyone successfully lower their Cablevision bill?

This is on the Optimum Rewards website:

*Members on multi-product promotional offers will become automatically eligible to receive the $20 monthly combined discount at the end of their promotional period. The Optimum Rewards discount includes the $5-per-month discount on Optimum Online with Family Cable or above, plus the current benefit of a $15-per-month discount for subscribing to all three services at the required levels.

I don't know what the pricing is after the 1 year period for the service. Chat Icon But any services you have like DVR and # of boxes and remotes isn't included in the monthly rates.

If you want cable to reduce your bill, when you call customer service, hit the prompt that directs you to the people who will cancel the service for you. They have more authorization to give out discounts. Last time they reduced mine by $30 a month for the next 24 months.

Call Cablevision. Tell them you want to switch to Dish or FIOS. I guarantee they will lower your bill. I speak from experience with family member working for and having worked for Cablevision.

I did. You have to call the cancellation department and argue. A crying baby in the background helped my friend do it too.

This is true IF you have FIOS in your area. We do not, so Cablevision basically laughed in my faceChat Icon

And we get ads all the time for it, but it isn't in our areaChat Icon

This is what I did & they lowered my bill by about $35.00 each month & threw in an extra cable box for my kitchen.

I think the lowest after the triple play with optimum rewards is $132. This excludes the charges for the cables boxes.
