NPR but make me feel better please.

My mom went to the doctor yesterday and he said she has a thickened uterine lining. . .but that he wasn't worried about it and she has to go in about a month for a scrape to see what it is. So, I felt fine about it and relieved since she hasn't been to the doctor in so long.

But then, I googled.

It could be a normal part of menopause OR cancer. . . WTEFF?! Can that be any more vague. And now I am freaking out. . .

Google is the Devil.

The other day after my appt where my blood pressure was elevated I made the mistake of looking it up online and I have been in a depression and panic for the past 3 days now.
The internet is NOT your friend in cases like this!

If her Dr is not too concerned I would bet it's nothing. I have heard of thickening of the Uterine lining as a sign of menopause.
The internet will tell you all the scenarios that COULD happen- including worse case of course. But just go by what the Dr says... I'm sure all is fine!

There isn't a symptom that exists in the world that the internet doesnt claim "might be cancer". Try ridiculous ones "itchy elbow", "toenail pain", I guarantee you'll find that they all are linked to cancer on WebMD/Google somehow...

Ugh, my mom and I always google medical symptoms and even things Drs tell us and we always freak ourselves out. If the dr isn't concerned, I wouldn't be too worried!! Stay away from google!!

My stepmom had this done. She was uncomfortable for a couple days, but it didn't last long. She doesn't have cancer.

And google is evil when looking up symptoms for anything!! I bet if you looked it up if your eye is itchy it could be falling out.
