Flat Screen TV on Walls-Wires?
Where do the wires go and are you allowed to put them in the wall (in the town of islip)?

In the wall, that's what we did. We're in the town of Islip. I did not ask permission, we just did it...I don't think you need permission for TV wires?

I just searched on here and saw that it is not "legal" to do so with your insurance company and in case there is a fire, you will not be covered. Thanks :)

You need to buy cables that are rated to be in your wall (HDMI or any video connection wires). The power cord cannot be run in the wall, an outlet must be placed behind the TV.
If you are worried, get a licensed electrician to do it. Otherwise no one would have insurance (sports bars, office buldings, almost every home in the tri-state area).
ETA: you can always buy paintable wire molding to hide the wires coming down the wall.
