Anyone shape their own eyebrows?
I moved upstate and am tired of having half my eyebrow taken off everytime I go to get them done. I have tried literally FIVE different places, from high end to low, and have not found one that doesn't take off my whole eyebrow! I prefer a straight brow and not too thin and not too arched, and everytime I TOLD the stylist this, I still wound up with 1/2 of my brow removed from my face.
So, do any of you girls shape your own eyebrows?
Do you have any tips / suggestions for a novice like myself?

Re: Anyone shape their own eyebrows?
I do. I just use tweezers. I like a fuller look and I tweeze the hairs that really don't "fit". I don't try to get too crazy with shaping b/c that's when things go haywire. I used to get them waxed but felt like you...plus I would walk out looking like I had been punched in the face because I was so red and inflamed. I also use scissors...I brush my brows up and any hairs that are longer than the others I trim. So, I basically tweeze in the middle, the strays above and below and I learned a great tip once years ago...to tweeze the hairs underneath the fullest part of your brow (towards center of head)...it lifts up your whole face.

I have never even tried to go and get them waxed though, I'm too worried that they'll ruin my eyebrows, lol. trust issues

Thank you so much! You have great advice Johnsae! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who is going to brave doing their own!
And it's so funny that you say to tweeze underneath the fullest part of your brows. The place that I LOVED on LI used to do that and I felt like it made my eyes look so much less TIRED! Everytime I get them done here they only do the arch, no matter what I ask for!
Tonight i am putting the baby to bed and doing a full on beauty night. Nails, brows, toes. Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!

I won't let anyone touch my brows. I don't trust them.
I use a mirror like this:
and Tweezerman tweezers.

I do exactly the same, but i am blond, so I use a product by Anestsia to fill them in where I went buck nutty in the past and they need a bit of filler...The color matches good to my lite brows, so it takes all of two seconds. I get it at Sephora. But for maintenance, follow what Johnsae says...

I'm another who doesn't trust people with my brows. So I tweeze them. Are they perfect? No!!! But I am happy with them. I tweeze and trim every Sunday.

Re: Anyone shape their own eyebrows?
I do them myself. I used to get them waxed but it was hit or miss & I hate having someone standing over me, breathing on my face.
The last few times I went when I had gone too long without plucking, the ladies always told me, I had a good shape, just needed to clean up & they would wax & then mostly tweeze, so I figured I could just do it myself.
I pretty much do what Alicia said, but I don't do much at the thickest part--I will have to try that.

Re: Anyone shape their own eyebrows?
you can also take a lip pencil and draw out the shape you want your eyebrows to be. Just tweeze what's not in the line. That's what my cousin did to me when my brows looked like a giant unibrow!

Exactly what I do. I've never gone for waxing or threading.

forgot to mention that I also fill mine in a little when I do my makeup...makes a ton of difference...I use the eyebrow duo by Stila

This is what I do too. I've been doing this basically since high school. I have only gotten them waxed a few times and hated the results.

Yes, this is soooo true! When I shape my brows and do it this way, people have asked me where I got them done!

I do. I've always been afraid if I go somewhere they will take off half my eyebrows.

Re: Anyone shape their own eyebrows?
I do my own brows too. I only tweeze the "strays" - I don't even try and form an arch, i go with my brow's natural shape, and I think I do a decent job. I can't tweeze too much because I don't have very full brows, if I take too much off they disappear.

I've never heard this, I am definitely going to try it!
