my shoes don't fit!!!

Since it's so gorgeous out today...I wore flip flops to commute to work in. Haven't left my desk much all morning and was just about to go down to the cafeteria...figured I should put on real shoes and shoes I wore 2 days ago don't fit Chat Icon Chat Icon
My feet and ankles are so swollen today...I look like Fred Flinstone Chat Icon

Just had to share....so depressing! I have elevated my feet and am trying to drink lots of water.

I had to go out & buy shoes--- thank god it's flip-flop weather, so I could get away cheap. My feet & ankles are still pitted with the imprints of my shoesChat Icon

Re: my shoes don't fit!!!

This has been my one serious third trimester symptom! I find that sitting at a desk all day really causes my feet to swell! By the time I get home, they are unrecognizable. No ankles at all, and SO much puffiness. They really do look like Fred Flintstone feet.

I've also been swelling so much in my hands and wrists that I am suffering carpel tunnel.

OB said there's nothing to do about it other than get those babies elevated when you get home, drink lots of water, and avoid salt!

Good luck and start buying shoes in larger sizes. I went from a 9 to an 11!!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Shake hands with your partner! Chat Icon

My shoes still fit but I swell almost every day by the end of the day.
I have cankles and fred flinstone feet each night.
even my hands hurt a bit when I'm on my computer all day.

Keep em up, drink the water and watch the salt. Other than that we can't do much and I'm over it already!

I can't even do flip flops or open toes yet becasue my feet and toes are NOT in open toe shoe shape yet...by a LONG shot! Chat Icon

Wear clogs.

They may not be beautiful, but they are comfortable & your feet can expand in them.

I wear the open-back kind so that they are less stinky.

Re: my shoes don't fit!!!

welcome to my world! I have been wearing these Sketchers mary-jane black sneakers for months now. I normally wear a 7 1/2- bought these big in a 9 and I am using every inch of room. My feet look like Princess Fiona! I am getting a ped this weekend to try and make them look somewhat decent Chat Icon

I wore flip flops too I think they are no good right now. Not enough support. My feet are killing me.

Re: my shoes don't fit!!!

I had to run out to payless and buy some cheap maryjane style sneakers. I have been living in them for the past week. At 35 weeks, it all went downhill and I started swelling.

By the way, someone told me to eat bananas???!!! She said the potassium can help with the water retention??? Does anyone know if this is true???

Yes because Potassium helps flush sodium out of the body
And sodium is a huge culprit in swelling.
