Spinoff - vacuums
Another poster mentioned having the vacuumed serviced, and someone mentioned doing it yourself...
How do you do it yourself? We have an upright that hasn't been working properly, we've had it about 2 years...

we have a bagless vacuum what we do is pull all the filters out (gotta find out where they are because two are hidden) clean out the hair and gross stuff. Then unscrew the roller on the bottom and clean that out (hair wraps around) after that it works amazingly well

I always "service" them myself, like the PP poster said really just cleaning the vac by removing all the hair. Needle nose pliers work really well for this.
