Sitting/standing in crib, and not able to lay down?
DS starting sitting up a while ago, but luckily didn't usually sit up in his crib until he woke up in the AM. Now he's started sitting and standing in his crib as soon as I put him down, and doesn't seem able (or maybe willing  ) to lay down again from the sitting/standing position. I go in, put him down, he pops back up, and this continues...
Any words of advice? Is this just a stage when they get used to being able to sit and stand?

I don't know if this will be of much help, b/c the things I had to do I did when my DS was younger than yours, but here's what I did anyways. When DS just started consistently rolling over, he would roll over as soon as I put him in his crib, but couldn't roll back. At another time, he would get so caught up in playing with his feet, that he couldn't go to sleep. Both times, it took a couple of naps of actually holding his feet down (gently, of course) until he fell asleep. He eventually stopped doing those things in his crib. But, like I said, he was younger, and I don't know if that would fly with your DS.

I remember reading someone's post on here about this awhile back and others said its a phase, and there's not much you can't do about it (I think)
Hopefully the novelty wears off soon!

I thought I read it takes just as much learning /practice for them to leanr how to sit from stadning as it does to stand!

oh no.
Maybe not *as much* ... 
(But I swear I just read it either in the Baby Center bulletin or some other email of handy dandy tips I receive).

i have the same thing going on here! 
i dealt with it 1 month ago with twin #1 and now dealing with twin #2. the standing in the crib and screaming, I can't take it
I go in and lay her down, come back downstairs and repeat (she is back up and screaming). I've been doing this everynight this week and I can't remember how long I did it for twin #1!!!
I am hoping this phase ends soon for you and me

oh no.
Yes, the PT that works with my son and daughter said the same thing. I worry because my sons new thing is to just drop on his bottom. I feel like he is going to crash his head on the side of the bed rails one day. It's an annoying phase. During the day, I try to practice having him squat back to a seated position if that makes sense (have him kneel).

Yeah.....that was a fun time!
It's a stage that almost every kid goes through....they learn eventually though! And there's very little you can do to teach them, unfortunately!!

I think this was me!
DS would stand up in the crib and not be able to get himself back down. He'd stand there crying until he was so tired he'd put his head down on the rail and start falling asleep like that.
It was awful; I was starting to think something was wrong with him. It lasted for 2 or 3 weeks, but he did eventually learn to get down!
Many hugs to you, I know how horrible it is watching/hearing it!! I felt so bad for him.

Oh Beth I posted a few weeks ago about this!! Riley is doing the samething. Now twice sometime three times a night we have to go in and help her back down which then she starts to cry so I have to pick her up!! I hope it passes

it lasted about 2 weeks with DS. I read to just go in once and put them down, then they should figure it out on their own. If he was just up and jumping I didn't go in. When he got tired enough he'd cry, I'd lay him down and then he'd go to sleep.
