Need help finding a suit?

So I started the job hunt (Chat Icon ) and I don't own any suits. Last time I bought suits was right out of college and I was plus size back then. I am thinking I would like 2 suits - one skirt and one pant. Where do you suggest I look? Something stylish, but not too trendy.

Thanks!

Century 21 has a huge selection. I would also check out Macys, Kohls, NY and Co., Syms, and Bloomies if you want to spend a little more.

Re: Need help finding a suit?

Personally for me, department store suits never fit me well. I tend to need separates since I often need one size larger on the bottom. My favorite for a modern fit are J. Crew and Banana Republic, although they are $$$ I would recommend going to the outlets—you can get good deals and a classic, well-made suit that is more modern.

Ann Taylor is also good, obviously, but none of their pants really fit me well. If they fit you, that could be a good option. Again, I would definitely go to the outlet!

Try Annie Sez. I found a beautiful Calvin Klein suit there about a month or so ago.

Re: Need help finding a suit?

Thanks. Do you think there are enough at the new outlets or do I need to head to Riverhead?

I would go to riverhead only because they have so many more stores. Like 200 vs. 70 or something at teh deer park one

I would try ann taylor factory store, banana republic, I think anne klein has suits too. And brooks brothers...

Re: Need help finding a suit?

For my more conservative suits, I have been buying at Talbots and Ann Taylor. Once in a rare while I will find something great at Macys.

I am small framed and have had the hardest time finding suits. Theory is the only thing that fits me.

The suit I wore for the job I got was from Lord and Taylor Chat Icon

I've since found nice suits at Ann Taylor.

If you are near Huntington or Mineola check out Fox's! They have designers for great prices, but randomly bring your checkbook since they don't take credit cardsChat Icon That aside, they are a great store!

Love JCrew, Neimans and Macy's for suits. I find Banana to be hit or miss, and Ann Taylor ok some seasons.
