I need help!! DS has his first stomach virus and he hates Pedialite.
It started Monday night. DS threw up all in his crib. Then in the morning he threw up twice and had a case of diarrhea. I took him the doctor and he told me there was a stomach bug going around and to keep him Hydrated with Pedialite. Well, he hates it!! I have tried everything. I tried the bottle, sippy cup, watering down, Adding some to his formula. I even went out and bought the ice pops. Tuesday I was able to give him about 5oz of it by using a medicine syringe. ( I was desperate)!
Well, today he will not take it at all. If I even try to make him drink a little he gags and winds up throwing up. I was able to give him about 13oz of formula through out the day with out him throwing up. I gave him another 6oz before but he threw it up after I tried the Pedialite. He also won't drink water or take any food. He has also had diarrhea all day.
I called the doctor today and she said to add it to his bottle, which didn't work. He has had only one wet diaper all day. He is still playing and moving around, but not as much as usual.
Any suggestions!! He just turned one.

water down some gatorade and give him some ice.
they also make pedialyte pops!

I tried three different flavors and the ice pops. My sister suggested Gatorade, but I forgot to ask the Ped if that was okay to give him.

Mine suggested getting the unflavored kind and putting in apple juice. It was a big hit.

What flavors did you try? I had the same issue with DD#1 when she was 18 months and had a terrible stomach bug for 10 days. She was a child who would only drink milk and water before that - and didn't like juice. I finally got her to take some apple pedialyte. Did you try that - I find she wouldn't take it for a day then would at least sip at some as she got used to it - the mixed berry and the apple went down the best. Some of the flavors taste better than others do so maybe try some different flavors. Also I found if it was cold she would drink it better than at room temp.
