semi-clueless gardener
ok so...i have a garden of mixed annuals and perennials in my front yard. i also planted some tulip bulbs in the fall. i see a few small buds here and there starting to sprout (yay!). i cut off the dead ends of most of last years flowers and tried to dig up as many weeds as possible. what else do i have to do to get my garden ready for the spring? i want it to look pretty and i am still a novice at this. any tips from green thumb people would be awesome. TIA

Re: semi-clueless gardener
Yesterday since it was nice out I turned over the dirt in my beddings and raked the dead grass off the lawn.
You might want to add some new dirt to your beddings, and lime your yard.
I trimmed my shrubs and hydrangeas in th efall, and they are now starting to get buds. i think it's best to do the trimming then, but it may depend on the plant.
I am new at this too so I am just going by what I have done LOL
