Help 9 month old biting while BFing
My DD still won't take a bottle so we have given up - she won't drink from a sippy or a straw cup but we are working on that. She will drink very small amounts though from a regular cup but not enough to give up BFing entirely and I have trouble pumping so that isn't really an option yet.
Anyway - DD is 9 months and the past 3 days started biting during feedings. DD#1 did this once or twice before she go teeth - I pulled her off, stopped the session and said firmly NO. She cried and never did it again. DD#2 on the other hand has 6 teeth in with two more breaking thru still (they are coming in very slowly) anyway - she is biting me, pulling off, laughing then clapping and saying YAY!! I stop the feeding and sternly say NO biting. But she just giggles, claps and says YAY over and over.
HELP - any suggestions I will NOT be a teether as much as I LOVE BFing my DD.

Oh boy! I'll be tuning in to this post. Sorry I cannot help but Nolan has just broken his 2nd tooth about a week ago. Since his first tooth came, he has nibbled a few times and I do the firm No and three strikes your done but it's only the beginning I'm sure. It's not sending me through the roof bites. Seems I have one more month until clapping Yay! Can't wait!
I would say, keep doing what you're doing until she gets the message. Easier said than done but what else could you do? Keep trying those cups! I'd better get his sippy cup out more often!

Part of my issues is I was never a big pumper (I could never pump very much at any time) - so I can't replace a bottle or cup for her feedings - she might have a milk issue so if I were to supplement I would have to go with either soy or alimentium and when I was trying to get her to take a sippy or bottle we went thru a lot of formula and she refuses to drink it - even with a cup - so I just end up throwing away large amounts.
I never had this issue with my 1st DD so I'm kind of at a loss b.c I don't have an alternative. She just thinks it is a game. I even just tried to pull her off and stop BFing that session and say nothing and she STILL thinks it is a game.
