when installing beadboard paneling...
Do you paint it before installing it and before making any cuts? (ie: making cuts for the outlets, vents, etc.). I have heard it is better to paint before installing, just wasnt sure in regards to the cuts.

your aren't talking about crown moulding are you? If I understand right, the beadboard panels are going half way up your wall? I would make all your cuts first, put up the panels and then paint once it's up. You would have to make too many touch ups if you painted first. That is the way I would do it.

yup that's what I am talking about. I guess it's not really moulding, it's paneling. You are probably right that it would be easier that way, but DH and I keep hearing that it is better to paint it before putting it up (so that the paint dosnt drip, etc). We dont really have the space to paint all those panels plus the base moulding and chair rail before we put them up though....Maybe we will do it that way instead.
