plantation shutters?
we are having someone come over on thursday to measure for and quote plantation shutters.
we already got a rough estimate, about $650 per window? Does that sound normal? we have two windows in the kitchen and two in the nursery which would get shutters, possibly our bedroom as well with another three windows
i cant believe how expensive they are

I am not in NY so my prices probably don't help you, but we have them throughout the house and LOVE THEM!

we were thinking about putting them in our house also - instead of the curtains we have over our sliding doors...but i haven't priced them yet b/c i am scared!

when we went, i gave them a rough size estimate of each window (36 wide by 70 long) and it came to about $700 per window
when we got home I measured and the windows are more like 31 wide by 60 long but still ... this will be like 4.5k for 7 windows! and we still need treatments in our living room  (wood blinds)

That seems high to me. I would never pay that amount for window treatments. I don't think it increases the value of the home although I do think they are spectacular. Check out this link. I put in ur measurements and they came in under $300.00 each. You install. I've ordered from them before and I think they are great. You can also order free samples.

the verdict is in! 
we decided to do all four rooms, get it done all at once and they gave us a better deal. $5800 for 10 windows but, it will look incredible once done.
the only problem, it will take 6-8 weeks, baby is due in 9! I hope he doesnt come early

I love plantation shutters but had NO IDEA they were so expensive.
I'm sure they're going to look great. Please post before and after pictures of the windows. Would love to see them!

ughhh they are sooo expensive
I want them for the living room, dining room, sunroom BUT we have TONS of windows, itd be like 10g's for just those three rooms
to say im jealous that youre getting them is a serious understatement!
