questions about bruised tailbone during childbirth and showering after an episiotomy/stitches.
I am 3 weeks PP and for the past few days have started to feel a little pain in my tailbone.. it's mainly when I am trying to stand up from a sitting position. Is it possible that this pain would show up now at 3 weeks PP?
And those who have had stitches, how do you clean the area? My Dr said No soap. I've been using body wash but I don't feel clean enough.. sorry TMI

Re: questions about bruised tailbone during childbirth and showering after an episiotomy/stitches.
I fractured my tailbone when I had DS and it still hurts sometimes almost 3 years later, my OB told me at my 6 week check up thats what it was.
As for the stiches, I used the spray bottle fo r a long time, maybe 8 weeks? Whenever I stopped bleeding, then I went back to regular soap. It seems like a long time, but it really isn't

Did anything help the tailbone pain? I guess I can take Motrin & maybe use an ice pack?

I tore my inner thigh muscle during the pushing phase labor and then ended up with a c-section. Take it EASY!!!! I know it's hard to do, but it's so important in the long run. I was just feeling pain in my c-section scar today and I had DD in December 08. I also used the bottle for cleansing.

I used my regular soap (Dove/Caress) around my stitches - my OB never told me I couldn't so I didn't know that I shouldn't.

Re: questions about bruised tailbone during childbirth and showering after an episiotomy/stitches.
9 weeks postpartum, my tailbone is still strange, like a numb feeling, and many times I still feel pain there.
I cleaned the area with a squirt bottle, and used soap in the shower. I had lots of stitches, and the dibucaine cream and tucks pads made it feel so much better..
it will go fast, and feel better soon...
