How to find a realtor
Besides word of mouth are there any stats on realtors or anything like this?
We are thinking of listing and want to make sure we use the right person.
ETA: I live in OC NY

I know realty companies usually post stats but not sure you can find that for the individual person. We found a realtor at an open house actually and she was very good. Not too salesy or pushy which I was looking for. She works for prudential in Massapequa....

Open houses are a great way to see a realtor in their "natural" environment
Most of my clients are people I have met at my open houses
Look around...whose signs do you see? Any one name you see over and over?
I would speak with 3 local realtors...see who you click with and what they each think they can sell your house for...make sure they have comp sales to back up the numbers
