weekly progesterone injections to prevent preterm labor?
had my level 2 today and while the babies looked good, the dr is starting me on weekly progesterone injections to prevent preterm labor.
i used prog suppositories to help me get PG and until week 12 of this PG, but I dont know much about the injections.
anyone else doing this? is it helping?

I am getting them every week to prevent PRe term labor as well. My DD was born at 32 weeks. So far I guess its helping, I'm 32 weeks now and no baby yet.

how low are your levels?
my dr kept me on supplement until 23 w. ive been off for a week now and my numbers are finally going up on their own..
where would you have to do the shot??

i have no idea about my levels at this pt. i know they were very low early on. i had a cerclage a few weeks ago and am on strict bed rest. since i had a preterm labor scare with my DS at 32 wks (thankfully i took meds and he was born safely at 38 wks) they arent taking any chances. they said the progesterone will help to dry up the mucus in my cervix so it will help with the shortening? apparently, low prog causes contractions which are making my cervix shorten?
i will be getting it done at my high-risk OB office.

i am. im on terbutaline since 28 weeks or so and now they just started last week giving me the progesterone shots. i cant understand why because they only do this until 36 weeks... i dont feel different from them though aos i dont see the point really. especially that my cervix has been perfect. im just having contractions. who do u see; dr klein or dr faustin?

after 36 wks its safe to deliver the baby so that is probably why they dont bother giving them after that.
from what i understand, low prog causes contractions, so they probably just want to make sure you dont go into labor before 36 wks.
im just confused bc i have been seeing dr faustin (he actually put in my cerclage) and he never mentioned anything about the shots. but today, dr klein came in after my level 2 and said he didnt understand why i wasnt on them already and said that i need to start them right away (they actually gave me the first one today) 
i will see dr faustin on monday so i will discuss this with him also, but i just wanted more info on the injections.
ETA: i heard the nurses talking and they said that dr klein is leaving next week!

OMG! I hate Dr Klein!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Dr Faustin!!!!! From the beginning,. I saw Dr Faustin, but when he wasnt there Klein saw me and didnt want to hear anything about what Faustin said was wrong with me. Totally said that there was nothing wrong with me with all the pain I had and that it was just intestinal. Changed the whole protocol that Faustin set up for me and then right after I started having contractions. Hes sooo rude and arrogant; my mom was with me and asked a question, and he was like "well if you were paying attention, you would have heard the answer". hes so nasty! I requested that I never see him again! I would definitely ask Faustin next time you see him what he thinks... sorry about the long rant. haha.
