Risks for Down Syndrome

I just had my 12 week screening done and the results came back 1:72 for Downs. I am going for an amnio in three weeks. I was wondering if anyone else has been through this and did the amnio and got back great results. Thanks

Re: Risks for Down Syndrome

I just went through this! my numbers were 1:182, I decided to go through with the amnio for my own sanity and I had a GREAT doctor. It did not hurt at all and is quite similiar to drawing blood. It took 10 days for my results to come in (they said 2 weeks) and everything turned out fine. I actually have a doctors appointment on tuesday where they are going to go through the results in more detail, but now I know NOTHING is wrong with my baby boy. I hope this helps you, if you have any questions PLEASe write to me.

Last year my friend has similar results and was very upset- she had the amnio done and she is the proud mommy of a healthy 6 month old.

Re: Risks for Down Syndrome

I just took the first test this week, the one with the blood from the finger (i think that's what you're talking about right?) So, now I'm just waiting... Good luck on any further tests!
