how much did you put down on your house?
and how much was your house? did you leave yourself a cuhion if so how much? we spent it alllllllll we are flat broke!!!!!!!

With our first home, we put down 10%. We are now purchasing our 2nd home and will put down 20% this time.

We put down 20% and had about 10-12 months worth of savings left.
Same here... give or take a few months. 
Not counting retirement savings of course.

we put like 7% down and we had nothing left thanks to a problem at closing where they told us we had to pay all the taxes upfront and we were not warned.
we also had to pay to have the house painted prior to closing so it drained us. In reality we would have had 5k left.

we put 3.5 (FHA) and had enough left in saving to do the work we wanted to do in the house.....which is a lot of work (Gutted the entire 1st floor).

We put 5% down so we would have more money available for renovations. Then there were a series of unfortunate events that made our closing costs come to just over another 5% so that cut into what we had left over in our "house fund." I think we had about $10K left there (money that is separate from what we needed to live off/have a bit set aside - we also had no CC debt).

We put down 10% and had money left over. But then I lost my job and was out of work for 2 months. That sucked.

we put 20% down and had some left over in our savings - we spent half of what was left in our savings on the house already  i can't wait to get the tax credit $

We put down 50%. We didn't want to carry a huge mortgage even though it would have been within our means. This allowed us to feel more secure.

We bought a 2bdrm coop and put 40%..people thought we were crazy bc we "could afford more house" but I plan to stay home for a cple yrs when we have kids and can afford the coop on one salary.

We left a cushion of only about 30K.
That cushion didn't get us far.

We put down 10%
Closing costs were 18K something with the taxes.
We had $3500 to our names for 6 months. Have a bit more of a cushion thanks to first time home buyers credit and last years tax return. Having our taxes done tonight. Hopefully we'll get $ back.
