I had no idea...
That I would be accruing interest on my 8K homebuyer tax credit! 
Got the check in the mail yesterday  Took approximately 9-10 weeks.

We just filed our return last night. well actually this morning since it can be done online....very exciting!

When we got our money (which we have to pay back and I'm still a peeved about-but whatever) I watched it go faster than it came.

The 8k cant be efiled... The HUD needs to be attached... Are you sure about this?

how did you file online? didn't you close after November 6? if so you can't e-file for the home buyers credit.

its actually running 3 months at this point
Yup, I was surprised we got it so "soon," since the IRS website says it could be 12 to 16 weeks!

we have to pay it back too...we bought in dec 08..my accountant said that he thinks if enough people complain, saying its not fair that peoplew that bought in 09 were entitled to more $ and dont have to pay it back...and that even people who have owned before could get more....that maybe they will say that no one has tio pay it back

Im thinking that we are going to have to buy a house 5 minutes after we close on Mom's house in order to qualify. I don't think we are going to make it.

Yeah..I'd like to know this too. I am so  about having to pay it back when if I would have waited two friggin months to buy a house I would have gotten more money and not had to pay it back.

Can you call him back and ask him to reverse the pay back of the 2008 credit?
