Re: Those who are an XS, size 0 or 1...
When I was in between a 0 and 2 BR pants had fit me the best. I know you don't want to spend a lot of money but I think if you get 3 pairs you can rotate them and throw in some skirts and dresses and you should be fine.

Re: Those who are an XS, size 0 or 1...
I'm between a 0 and a 2 as well. My favorites are BR, always the the sale rack. I just got 2 pairs of pants at the deer park outlet this weekend - jeans for $20 and work pants for $17.50!
I've also had luck at Express & the Limited.

When I was working I liked Express for pants and skirts and BR for tops.

I always do really well finding work pants at Banana Republic and the Banana Republic outlet. Gap is hit or miss and sometimes a J. Crew size 0 will run small enough. I also love Theory pants but they are $$$.
Ann Taylor size 0 feels to "old lady" for me (they feel too high up on the waist) and NY and Co runs HUGE!!!
Good luck!
Ditto on Ann Taylor and BR for me as well. I hate AT pants for just that reason.
I love BR's pants and used to always buy all my work pants from there. Martin Fit in 2P fits me like it was custome made, I swear! You can get a really good deal during sales and in outlets and those pants last because they are classic and usually well made. Have fun shopping!

Before dd I was very petite and a size 2 and I would really only buy Ann Taylor Loft for work clothes. I haven't been in the store in almost 4 years though..but I'm sure it hasn't changed much.

Re: Those who are an XS, size 0 or 1...
Express for pants -- they are a little pricey but they run buy one get one half off a lot.
Also I can say they last forever. I have had one pair for over 5 years, and just now are starting to fall apart. They have kept their shape through a million wears and trips to the dry cleaner.
For tops I have a hard time because even XS tend to be big on me -- so I just get things when I find them.
Lately Old Navy has had a good selection.

I usually shop at
Express-Editor Pants Ann Taylor, but sometimes there pants run big on me. Mandees
NY & Co & The Gap, run big on me and I don't like how they fit at all.

I always shop the juniors department. BEBE is the best for size 0 but whenever I go in there, I go broke

Wow, you definitely shopped around!
The good think about the BR pants is that they will last a long time. If you love the way the other ones fit, I say make the investment and get them!

I just got rid of 50+ pairs of work pants and jeans size 0, 1, 2, and some smaller 3s. If you would have posted this sooner I could have given them all to you! I got a lot of my pants from, believe it or not, Old Navy (and sometimes Gap)! I'm not sure how dressy your job is, but I got a lot of the khakis for work. My job was business casual and I worked in a lab so I didn't want to spend too much $$$ of something that could be easily ruined. Plus they have the small sizes.

Kohls Daisy Fuentes petites are PERFECT. I always had issues with dress pants in every store til I tried my luck at Kohls. Been using them ever since!

Oh man that would have been awesome!!! I'm going to try Old Navy and Gap tomorrow... I couldn't get to Gap today for the sale. When I went on the interview everyone was dressed up a little dressier than where I work now so I don't know if khakis are going to be okay, but I like those pants you posted the pic of. Hopefully i'll have some luck there.

I actually buy a ton of kids clothes. macys has a good selection of work pants. it really depends on the way they run on the size but anything from 12-14 usually fits perfect. I'm short 5'3 so the lengths are usually perfect! I have found them in many stores though too.
