Burned smell in microwave Help!
My sister was making a sweet potato in my microwave and for some reason put it on for 15minutes! Well we had smoke, fire alarms etc. Now a week later and tons of scrubbing the microwave still has a burned smell. What can I do to get rid of the smell?

I think if you boil some vingear it might help. Or just wash it out with vingear and water mix. Once the vingear is dry it doesn't smell like vingear anymore. GL!

I agree with the vinegar. Wipe down the inside and the door with white vinegar. Set a small bowl with white vinegar inside the microwave and boil for 1 minute. The hot vinegar smells horrible, but should take away the burned smell inside the microwave. As a bonus, pour the hot vinegar down the kitchen drain to 'clean' that.

Great bonus! I like that idea.

I've also heard microwaving half a lemon in a small bowl of water will also get the smell out. HTH
