Anyone have a fibroid?
I never had one before and it was just discovered at my ultrascreen.
Currently it doesn't seem to be in the way of a vaginal birth, but I have to go back to check on it again in 4 weeks.
THe tech and doctor didn't seem concerned so I'm not overly worried about it, just hoping it doesn't grow and obstruct delivery and I'm left with a CS, which again isn't the worst thing, but you know.....
Anyone else?

Re: Anyone have a fibroid?
I discovered I had one right before I became pregnant with DD#1. At first my OB thought it would be a problem because it was near my cervix but as my uterus grew it moved out the way. It did double in size during my pregnancy because it was feeding off my hormones but returned to original size after I delivered. It also did cause me to have preterm contractions with both my pregnancies but I delivered 2 healthy girls both at full term. Feel free to FM if you have any questions/concerns.

Re: Anyone have a fibroid?
At my first sono at 8 weeks the Dr asked if I knew I had a fibroid in my uterus. I had no clue. I asked him if it would cause an issue and he said no it shouldn't and that it's very common in women in their 30s He didn't seem too concerned and nothing has been said since so I'm guessing all is still well....

Re: Anyone have a fibroid?
Yes- I had many that developed all over the outside of my uterus when I got pg with DD#1. I had minor complications in my 11th week that required pain meds and some bedrest. Once I hit my second trimester a few weeks later I had no more issues though I was monitored to make sure they wouldn't be in the way for delivery.
My largest was the size of a small grapefruit.
They were all still there when I got pg with DD#2, though they were much smaller. They also posed no issues and I went on to have a normal vaginal delivery.
This time around, they have shrunk significantly and the largest one is about the size of an orange.
If you have just one I wouldn't be concerned- thats your doctor's job. They are pretty common to develop in pregnancy due to the hormones. My OB recommended I stay away from soy milk as the isoflavins (estrogen) *could* encourage more growth.
