I can't handle this anymore- sleepign woes
DS is almost 7 months. Did cio at 5.5 months, for multiple paci wakings at night. still kept a 4/5 am nursing. worked great-for about a month. for the past few weeks, he back to waking multiple times a night, wont go to sleep for the night, and is absolutely hysterical- when we did CIO, it was a calmer cry, and i could handle. thi is hysterical shrieking. i am LOSING my mind. this kid was always a bad sleeper, btu lately its been all night cryign, every night. he does NOt nap. it is impossible to get him down for a nap, and when he sleeps, its only for 40-45 minutes. i normally get 2 45 minute naps all day. altough the napping situation is not great, i oculd handle it while he was sleeping at night. I just want to be able to put him down at night, and not have to worry. I mean, he flips out the minutes i put him in his crib. I have a ton of pacis in there, he makes no attempt to put htem back himself. I really am mentally exhausted from this- its been AWFUL lately.

I hear you - dd is a master of the binky during the day but at night, doesn't even try. I will tell you right before her bottom teeth broke through it got bad - and now, its perfect again - so maybe teething?? Wish I could offer more advice or something - but know you are not alone and I am sending lots of s!

i'm so sorry that you are going through this.....it's not fun and when WE lose sleep - it's so much worse... sleep deprivation is horrid.
i wish i could offer some advice - but just know that we're here to vent to!!!!

Re: I can't handle this anymore- sleepign woes
We have the same sort of situation and I have just reached the point where I let him CIO...I was losing my mind before this. I don't know what that screaming thing is, but our son does it too and it's enough to make you scream. We spoke to the ped and she said it would be fine to just let him CIO, so that's what we do. He doesn't take the paci at night either, but he doesn't care much about the paci in general. He just rolls around the crib screaming - now we are down to about 10 minutes - until he falls asleep. I know your pain and hope you guys figure out what to do that works for you.

Re: I can't handle this anymore- sleepign woes
Does he have separation anxiety? DS is like that too now (same age), and I know we've always had similar issues. DS cries HYSTERICALLY when I leave the room, even if I keep talking to him and DH is right there. I read that CIO doesn't work when they are in the separation anxiety phase.

Re: I can't handle this anymore- sleepign woes
I"m not sure if this helps but I did cio about a month ago at 6m and for the mot part it worked then my supply went way done (we're EBF). I was told I still needed to feed at night anyway We decided to do half and half... first part of the night in his crib and then the first time he wakes we co sleep. My DS has never napped well either. I think its a good point about seperation anxiety cause I"m noticing that too. It's worse when I"m in the house but not around DS. Good Luck I know its tough to find a way everyone is happy
