Home alarm

We just moved into the house which has an alarm system (first alert-does not exist). Slomins came to the house said it was an alarm system for "I've fallen and I can't get up" which is not properly installed. Than I had world wide security come to the house (Honeywell-they took over first alert) said the system is good and it just has to be hooked up. He also said to me I drove all the way to you and you do not want to sign contract?

My question is I do not know who do believe? Slomins who says the system is bad or World Wide security who says it is fine.

Re: Home alarm

My guess would be that slomins wants to get you for a whole new system... And Honeywell since they took over first alert prob just wants you back as a customer and will either a. tell you it needs to be replaced (prob after signing contract) or it is indeed ok

Those would be my pessimistic/cautious guesses... oh and the fact that they said "i drove all the way here and you wont sign" would make me look elsewhere... Make a complaint about it if you really want to go with them... maybe you'll get some "incentives" for signing...

Re: Home alarm

After him saying he drove all the way out there and you didn't sign a contract, I wouldn't even consider them! There are other companies out there that you can get estimates from. We use South Shore alarms.

What about getting another opinion. Personally they all try to use scare tactics etc to sell you - I can't stand pushy sales and refuse to deal with them.

I would call some other companies and have them look at the systems. It sounds to me like slomins wants you to buy a system from them and the other company wants your business but at least isn't trying to get you buy a new alarm.

I couldn't stand ADT and they have had a lot of issues, slomins wanted a lot more money and we went with a local company that does a lot of the homes and businesses in my town.

LOVE LOVE LOVE my ADT alarm. They only charge $99.00 for activation and they will either give you a brand new system, or they will replace the parts of your current system that aren't working and then tie in the stuff that is working. My salesman was wonderful. FM me if you want the info...I have had no problems with them at all.
