Fireplace
We have a fireplace in our living room - there are pictures on the mantel - but currently there is nothing over the mantel except a clock.. and not a very nice one either.
My husband does not want to put the TV over the mantel because the fireplace is large and it would be too high for comfortable watching.
I am tired of the ugly little clock.
What should we - what would you - put up there?

i am doing a mirror or a large piece of art. Originally I was trying to find a copy of the map of our town to put on canvas and put up there but its impossible to get one.

we have cathedral ceilings above the fireplace so i am at a complete loss as to what to put there, bc anything will be lost on such a large wall
and every fireplace company( we are looking to get a new mantle made and new stone around the fireplace opening) tells us to take the mantle and chimney/surround all the way up to the ceiling but DH and i just dont like that look

we have a long rectangular mirror up; it's almost as long as the mantle itself. it bounces off the light from the windows so the room is brighter and appears bigger as a result.

If there are pics on the mantle I wouldnt put anything else. I do not like too much decoration.

We have pictures over our fireplace. It's not the best living room for a tv anyway which is why there isn't a tv above it.
