STAR Exemption

Last July we received a check in the mail for the STAR exemption rebate. I was told this happens twice a year. Does anyone know the timing of these rebate checks?

Re: STAR Exemption

From what Ive read, they did away with the star rebate... They do still have the other tax credit that reduces your taxes though

Re: STAR Exemption

it was never meant to be a permanent thing, it was a short term plan from the get go. State budget shortfalls lead them to phase out the rebate in 2009.

You still get the tax "discount" just not the rebate check.

So if you still get the exemption or discount how is it calculated? Are you paying less school taxes?
