Really BIG bed
We have a huge pillowtop mattress and recently got a new bed frame. With the box springs our bed is way to big, is it possible to just put the mattress on the bed frame, has wood slats across it?

Re: Really BIG bed
The mattress can't support itself on just the slats. However, you should be able to use a thick sheet of plywood.

Re: Really BIG bed
I was just looking for a new bed and I noticed something called low-profile box springs. I have no idea what they are but it just occurred to me that maybe they're the result of extra thick pillow tops? Maybe you need a thinner box spring with a pillow top?

Re: Really BIG bed
You could also get a smaller(thinner) box spring. They make ones that are about half the height of normal ones.
