Should I sell my Bugaboo? With Poll (Kinda Long.)
So, when I was pregnant, I just HAD to have the Bugaboo Chameleon. I bought one second hand for $500. It was practically brand new, plus they threw in a whole bunch of accessories. They were selling b/c they needed a double stroller.
Anyway...I probably used the stroller just over a dozen times. I thought the basinet feature was great, especially since DD is a winter baby--it was great on the ice and cracked sidewalks. I brought it to the beach about 3-4 times. The rest of the time it sat in my car and now it is in storage.
Dh and I aren't planning on having another child in the near future and I am a beach bum--but DD's daycare runs through the summertime--so even if I work--I'll be out at 11:30 or 1Pm and at the beach alone. We may go on weekends, but that only happened a few times last summer.
Anyway, should I sell? I'm really trying to de-clutter and reorganize my life and get rid of things that are taking up space and sucking up money (we currently pay for TWO storage spaces.)
WWYD?
PS- Is there an inexpensive stroller that works on sand that I could use if we do bring DD to the beach this summer?

I don't know...I'm in a similar situation...We have the cameleon as well and while I looooved the bassinet feature as well as I looove it for going on the boardwalk and long walks, it's literally sitting inside my house now, bc I use my city mini or maclarent now when we go out, bc it's just so much less cumbersome for going shopping and running errands...DH and I are talking abot number 2, hopefully trying this summer or next, and I'll prob need a dble, I DO think I'll still use the bug for long walks this summer, but after that, I doubt it...DH keeps telling me to sell it, but I don't know if I should...I know they sell a standing attachment for it for an older child...

I've been wondering the same thing about my Maxi Cosi. We bought it because it sits much higher than a typical stroller (I have back problems), and now that we have another baby coming in 5 months, I definitely think it might be time to sell it I love that stroller, but I can't see keeping that, AND the travel system, AND the snap & go
eta: I forgot to answer your question! I think you should probably sell it, but don't do it on the pretense that you *might* need a double in the future. But if it's something that you don't use now, then hey, why not?

What do you use when you walk around Brooklyn? Do you always go somewhere in your car?

I use my Maclaren Quest Sport. I take DD for walks around Park Slope and other than that, it's to the car and back.

Thanks, I am going to look into one of those.
I almost feel like this summer I can get a radio flyer all terrain wagon and put DD in that and bring her to the beach! They come with seating now!

Re: Should I sell my Bugaboo? With Poll (Kinda Long.)
i'd sell it! so funny you brought this up b.c i was on my lunch break noticing all the bugs go by and i thought to myself, thank GOD i didnt get an expensive stroller b.c i barely use the one i have now! we had gotten the maxi cosi perle stroller- its a suped up umbrella stroller that also alllows the infant seat to snap in! i use it a handful of times but i prefer to carry dd around. i am thinking about investing in a double stroller for when #2 rolls around but then again, i am not sure i want to spend the money if we are not going to use it that much. we'll see! anyhow, i'd sell!! i love decluttering!! you will feel 10 pounds lighter!

Just make sure you get the one with rubber wheels, not the hard plastic ones. There are a couple versions.

jeep strollers are great and go over sand but my all terrain radio flyer wagon is the best on the beach.

Re: Should I sell my Bugaboo? With Poll (Kinda Long.)
Thanks Ladies, I think I am going to sell. Now I just have to go to the storage space, take pics, post it on Craigslist and Park Slope Parents (another forum I belong to) and hopefully sell it.
How much should I ask for it?

Sell it...the resale value is good and Maclarens are so great. If you want another one in a few years, you can get one second hand! I am using mine with my second child, but if I was torn about it, I would sell it.

Re: Should I sell my Bugaboo? With Poll (Kinda Long.)
i am thinking of selling mine (the one I just HAD TO HAVE!!!)
The bassinet served its purpose with 2 boys and now I know if I have a 3rd it will live in the snap-n-go and then the double stroller or Maclaren

Re: Should I sell my Bugaboo? With Poll (Kinda Long.)
I sold my Frog when DD was around 15 mos or so , my friend used it for a year and gave it to us, so it was over 2 yo (but in great condition, looked new) and I sold it for $450 . I went and bought another smaller stroller and bunch of other things DD needed at that time and still had money left over, lol. Bugaboo was just too big, too hard and a pain in the neck to fold and put it in the car, and I felt like DD was going to outgrow the seat very soon . Plus we moved to a coop this fall and good thing we don't have the bugaboo any more, no room for it.
p.s. mine sold withing 3 days, the price was negotiable, but the person who bought it didn't even ask for a lower price , they came , gave me the money and took it.

Same exact situation for me. I feel bad selling it though because my SIL bought it for me and I wouldn't want to hurt her feelings.
