If you have 2 DC... (glider question)

If you have 2 DC, did you buy a separate glider for each bedroom?

My little one will be 18 months when Chat Icon arrives. Thanks!!!!!!!

Re: If you have 2 DC... (glider question)

DH and I are having this argument right now. My DD has a $$$ glider in her room. DH says once DS is born we will move it to his room. Well I don't want to.

# 1 it doesn't match.

# 2 DD and I sit in her glider together and read a book every night.

Who will win....I'm not sure. I told him I would get a much cheaper one for DS's room but he still isn't budging. Chat Icon

Re: If you have 2 DC... (glider question)

My DC are 23 months apart, I didn't buy another glider. I actually left it in my older DS room since we read stories in it still and he is used it. I feed the baby sitting in bed right now, so it works out okay. I think by the time I want it in the babies room my older son will be moving to a big boy room so we can sit on his bed together to read. HTH!

We haven't used our glider in months (its in the basement now) so we are not buying a new one. I only used it until DD was 12 months.

Re: If you have 2 DC... (glider question)

I actually have 2 gliders now. One in DS's room and the other in the playroom. The one in the playroom is a like new Bellini glider that I got off Craig's list for $75. Maybe you could try looking for a second one on Craig's list or ask around to see who doesn't use theirs anymore. I know plenty of people who got rid of theirs when DC got older.

Re: If you have 2 DC... (glider question)

my DC are 23 months apart and we did not buy another glider. we stopped using the glider at 13 months when DS went into his twin bed.

we never really used it until now for DD (she is 6 months) and its not even in her room

Yes, we will be getting a 2nd glider. DS's glider doesn't match and we still use it occasionally. DS will also be 18 months when DD arrives.

Re: If you have 2 DC... (glider question)

We will not be getting another glider. Our DS's will be 21 months apart and the glider issue was part of the reason I decided to move first DS into a big boy room. I like having some place to sit with him before bed, if he wakes up and to read to him. If he stayed in a crib, I would have wanted to buy another glider and that seemed impractical to me. I will be able to sit in his bed with him. I will defintely use the glider with new baby once he is in the crib.

Re: If you have 2 DC... (glider question)

DD is 3 so I did not think it was necessary to buy a 2nd glider but DH pointed out to me that we read her a story in it every night and still rock her for a few minutes before putting her to bed so I reluctantly agreed to get a 2nd one.

We have the glider in our MBR and I use it for both kids. I got it to match the decor in my bedroom from the get go.

we switched it to our room b/c we dont use it anymore with DS (he's 2.5) , but will want to use it with DD. Since she will be in our room for a couple months, we figured its the best place for it right now
