If you don't have your own washer/dryer
do you: go to the laundry room? go to mom's? send out or have someone else do it?
Also, how often do youdo laundry?

Re: If you don't have your own washer/dryer
We have our own now but when we didn't, I would go to the laundromat once a week.

I used to schlep to laundrymat every week...but just last week, I used drop-off service.
It was such a nice treat and not too $$$.

Re: If you don't have your own washer/dryer
we used the laundromat outside the complex once, we used the laundromat in our building about 10 times, we use dh's parents most of the time and 1 out of every 6 weeks we use my parents laundry.
eta: we do laundry once a week.

Re: If you don't have your own washer/dryer
We either do it at my mom's or drop it off and the laundromat. It's really not that expensive and if we drop it off on our way to work, by the time we get home it's all finished and folded! Until we get a house...you can't beat that service!

For those that drop it off, would you mind sharing what you pay? It's becoming more andmore appealing.

Re: If you don't have your own washer/dryer
Well, when we were in an apt, we would go to the laundromat once a week, there was a bar across the street so we'd hang out there with friends and run over to change out the laundry.
We are now in a co-op and there are no individual w/d in the units, but a communal laundry room downstairs that we use like once a week.

Re: If you don't have your own washer/dryer
We drop off our laundry and have it done. I loathe folding laundry so it's a nice treat to have it come back already folded and we just have to put it away. We pay less than $1 per pound (DH drops it off so I'm not sure exactly how much it is).

Re: If you don't have your own washer/dryer
We have a laundry room in the building...I just got a roll of quarters!
I sometimes drop it off....75 cents a lb by me and then $1.50 for whites...
It's worth it...but it's cheaper for me to just do it

Re: If you don't have your own washer/dryer
When I first moved in with DH, it was in our basement but the facilities were gross and scarce, so I did it at mom's..after a while, I got over it and found a time when it wasn't busy and did it there (once a week)..DH used to drop it pretty infrequently when he lived with dad, but they used to just buy more undershirts, underwear, etc..haha...I have a thing about people touching my undies, so...always did it myself..haha...
eta that mom lives in an apt. bldg as well but on the same floor as the laundry AND you used a card instead of quarters, so it was a pleasure..coupled with the fact that they had several different sized machines and dryers...can you see I'm a laundry maven? ;)

Re: If you don't have your own washer/dryer
I hate not having a washer and dryer
Mostly I take my laundry to my moms but I do it if its way too much she will finish it up for me since I can't be there all day.
I prefer to go to the laundry mat becuase its so much faster. I can use 3 washers and 3 dryers as opposed to one (moms house) I can be done in 3hrs.
I did a drop off once and it cost me $30!!! never again.

THIS is a perk, I will agree. Being able to do 2 loads of clothes AND sheets at the same time is awesome. But so is the luxury of doing a load at 9 pm in your pj's on a Sunday night while a snow storm is brewing and NOT having to go outside to do so!
