Goobster, greenfreak, those stories are hilarious! Good for you (and the dad) for standing up and fighting those a-holes!
KittyGags, how funny- it IS Forest Hills!!! What IS it about this place! This is suppose to be a NICE neighborhood!
Totally agree about 311 in Queens or Brooklyn-useless! If there is a murder in Corona or Elmhurst, the police will most likely go there and not care that some dog pooped in the wrong spot!
Another problem is that I am not even in a house, I live in an apartment building and there are other apartment buildings all around me-so really, it is very hard to catch someone in action, and the walkway doesn't really belong to anyone, so nobody cares...
I did see TWO people with their dogs today and they both were carrying bags already with poop. I was ready to hug them and thank them for being so responsible in the mist of all the crap! But I didn't -one must control oneself!
I think I will try to call the councilwoman tomorrow. Although i am not holding my breath for that to work either
I feel ya. When I got out of my car I was like an Olympic gymnast on the sidewalk trying not to touch the dirt. The best part abotu the parking spot I ended up paying for was not stepping in turd everyday!
The best was when DH stepped in it and tracked it across my white area rug! UGH!
You should get those disposable booties they sell to walk thru the airport and put them over your shoes to protect yourself!
I lived in Birchwood Towers! Are you in the same part?

I lived in Forest Hills too and all the buildings around me including mine were strictly 'no pets allowed' and I have to say in the past 5 years that I lived here I hardly ever saw a person walking a dog let alone poop. I also paid a lot of $ a month in maintenance and a porter was outside every day cleaning the sidewalk so I'm sure there was some I just never saw it. In my new house there are rental apartments down the block that allow pets and so far the people we have caught have been from these apartments. I think my only hope is installing a camera
