Anyone know about Thomas Phelan's 123 Magic

My friend was raving about this system of positive discipline. There are books and DVDs. I read a lot of reviews but no one is giving away the information about exactly what is involved. I just want to know if it is something I would agree with, something I would carry out, something that is useful for a kid who is relatively good so far, etc. then I will buy a book or 2.

I have the book and don't feel I need any other materials. DD is 2.5 and very well behaved. I use the 1 2 3 system to stop a few things and often to get something to start, like coming to the table for dinner.

Since the first time I got to 3, I've never had to go past 2 usually it's just a firm "1".

I'm lucky that I have a very good natured, well behaved child but I can see how all children (and parents) could benefit from this very basic system of positive discipline.

I checked it out at the library before I bought it.

Yes we use it and it's very good. It's trickier as the get older like with my 7 yr old but it's terrific with my 3 1/2 year old. I definitely recommend it.

One of the psychologists I work with likes this program and uses it with our PreK and K students.

I think you can find info at it at teh library - either a book or DVD?
