Recommend your vacuum

I need a new vacuum. I feel ike ours has no suction. My DH has checked for a clog but doesn't see anything. We have a Hoover bagless windtunnel. I'm thinking I may want a Dyson. My MIL has had the same Electrolux for 15 years, so she recommends that. I'm willing to pay the money for a good vacuum.
Also, we have a dog and that is much of our problem. My DS is crawling all over and gets covered in hair. I just vacuumed and steamed the floors yesterday and I still see so much hair. My dog is small too. I like things clean, so this is making me crazy!!

I also vote for the dyson animal! I had had enough of spending money on vacuums that broke easily and kept having to be returned to Sears for repair. I have not had one single problem with the dyson animal, it never EVER loses suction, and has amazing easy to use extra tools. Love it. Worth the money.

Re: Recommend your vacuum

Every review by every independent organization I've read says that Dyson's are "good", but there are much better ones out there for half the price. I have two Eureka Boss series vacuums. Rated much higher than any Dyson, and half the price.

Re: Recommend your vacuum

We have the Dyson Animal Ball and, to be honest with you, I really don't like it. It came highly recommended but I find it to be very overpriced and not worth the money. It's very heavy and awkward.

Sorry, I know you wanted recommendations, but just wanted to let you know my experience.

Re: Recommend your vacuum

I have an Electrolux Oxygen canister vacuum with HEPA filters.
I think it's great. Works well on my carpets as well as the hardwood floors and the kitchen tile.
All the controls are on the handle, makes it easier to switch the setting from carpet to floor, and also to change the suction control. The canister is not that big or heavy so it is easy to store.

This is the link to the Electrolux website : Electrolux

I had a Kennmore upright bagless and hated it. It seemed like the dust just passed right thru the vacuum back into the air. My mom had a really old Viking canister vac that was great. That's what made me go back to a cannister with a bag. My opinion is that they work better.

Re: Recommend your vacuum

I have a dyson dust and allergy because I have severe allergy problems. I LOVE IT!! I have had it for two years and it is the greatest vacuum ever. One of my friend has the ball animal and she says it is akward so she gave it to her mom and bought a reg animal and loves that more.
