ALL Electric Houses...
What was your bill like for Dec? Its our first month in our first place and we got killed on our bill... Just wondering if other's had similar figures or if our heat pump just isnt efficient and needs to be fixed/replaced

you have electric heat????? if you heat is electric you are always going to get killed in the winter no matter if you get a more efficient heat pump or not. Electric heat is the most expensive to run.

yes, my entire condo community runs on all electric... (well, minus the folks that had fireplaces installed)... im sure there are more energy efficient units out there, otherwise no one would be living there lol

I rented a ski house one winter and the electric bills would be well over 300/month and that was with us having the heat at 55 during the week and only turning it up on weekends.

My friend has all electric and it's in the high 200 and low 300... During the summer and winter months....

Check with LIPA to see if you might be elligible for a discount as you are all electric. I'm about to get one, plus I get a free energy audit.

I live in a 2 bd APARTMENT in Queens and our Dec bill was $350...we don't leave the heat on during the day its on from 5:30pm to the morning. When I come home we just put heat in the living room and an hour before we go to bed we put the bedroom heat on....I would love to keep it on all day but its sooo expensive!

I lived in a 3 bed apt in queens with electric heat....in the winter $250+ and the was with me turning off the heat when ever I could
And I was on the second (middle) floor
