Where can I get custom drapes made with my own fabric?
I know at Fabric Mill you can only use their fabric, not COM.
Anyone know of a place where I can get them made?

Try looking for a dry cleaner with a tailor as they may be able to do it for you. FYI The Fabric Mill is having a huge sale right now.

you need to find a work room that deals with outside customers, not just designers, but i don't know any off hand. search for work rooms though and call around. GL

Honestly, I'm not Martha Stuart or anything but I made all of our drapes. It really isn't very hard and you can save a ton of $$$ It took some time but I got exactly what I wanted. I used a Singer simple- basic cheap sewing machine.
You can do it!!

I also went to a dry cleaner. I priced out a few, and it was worth the extra time, because some places were 2x-3x the amount. GL

You can do it!!
I can sew as well. Making simple panels are very easy, but if you want anything with a pleat, that's where it gets complicated. And if this is your only sewing project, the cost of a basic sewing machine may be the same price to have them done by someone. and then you don't have to worry if you mess up. (just playing devils advocate, because I have messed up measurements before and then kicked myself later)

I brought my own fabric to Mill End Shop in Islip.
They made me sign a waiver b/c they were using outside fabric but I had no issue with doing that.
I LOVE my shades. I had stationary balloon shades made. I haven't hung them yet but I love how they came out.
They're really beautiful. I plan on having all my draperies and window coverings made there. Their customer service was very good as well.
