I know the utility companies offer rebates so I would check the utility company websites.

Re: Are there monetary incentives to converting to gas
When we converted we got something for free from Keyspan/National Grid. DH took care of the conversion with the plumber, but I'm pretty sure it was the burner was free.
We already had gas service to the house for our stove, so it was a quick and inexpensive conversion for us.

We converted and at the time there was supposed to be a promotion but we didn't "qualify". Not sure why, but I love having gas. Also, I wasn't crazy about going for the basic burner they had on offer, so we upgraded.

Re: Are there monetary incentives to converting to gas
We received rebates on the burner and hot water heater because of their efficiency ratings. Also, b/c of having a new burner/water heater-the efficiency will save us $$, but that is not an actual check we get. Estimates for gas prices this season are that they will be lower than oil prices, so that is another savings-but this can vary each year.

I don't remember.
But I think you qualify for the $1500 credit for your taxes.
