verizon fios - bundle packages
if you have fios, did you bundle your cell phone into the "one bill?"
it looks like my cell phone would go from 119.00 per month to 70.00 per month.
i am nervous about the "big change" from cable to verizon (only the bill and how it works). so i didn't bundle it in. wondering if you could enlighten me?

me too, we are also hesitant to change bc Ive heard stories where even with the bundle once your bill arrives in skyrockets bc of surcharges.

I didn't do the bundle with the cell phone BUT we did do a regular bundle with Cable, Net, Phone and were surprised at all the fees and charges. I feel like you just can't win!

Re: verizon fios - bundle packages
I haven't bundled in my cell yet, but I have the other 3 (no reason, just haven't done it yet. Plus I think it saves DH a heart attack, the one bill might kill him!)
The reason you see fees and surcharges on Verizonz bill, is they are ruled by the government and they have to break down the bill that way legally. There are all kinds of fees and surcharges in other companies, but they roll it into the cost of the package so you don;t see it. They aren't governed like Verizon or LIPA.

Re: verizon fios - bundle packages
I had two lengthy calls with Verizon over the last two days. I am was only interested in the triple-play because I just left their wirleess service to lower our cell bills.
I questioned every one of their charges on the triple play bundle. Then, I called Cablevision to compare those charges, and Cablevisions charge per item is more. The one thing that will work out more on Fios is the taxes (not sure why - they were $6 with CV and $20 with Fios).
The boxes are cheaper and the pre-discounted price of the top bundle (134.99) works out $30 less than what I am paying CV now for the silver package + HBO. The only additional expense is a charge for boxes for the two TVs we currently have with basic cable and no box. If you don't have a box with Fios you don't get any picture.
So, we are all set for the switch and get a few promos included for the first 3 months. I guess I just have to prepare myself for the first month's pro-rated bill.
2 big pro's to us switching: 1) I have always wanted BBC America and 2) DH's good friend is the tech in our area and will be doing the install.

Re: verizon fios - bundle packages
If you bundle your cell phone in with the other three (tv, computer landline phone) you get an additional $15 off per month on your bill. We did it to get the extra $ off and because it's one less bill per month to pay.
