dormers on capes-where to begin
i need one...need to start saving for one at least.
How much does somethign like this cost? how long does the process take? where do i begin?

Depending on the size and what rooms you have upstairs it can be costly (like moving plumbing, electrical work, etc.), like $100k. I would recommend doing a home equity line of credit. You need to find an architecture who will draw up the plans and then find a contractor to do the work.

Sometimes you can find a contractor that has an architect, which will save you $3500. My contractor included the architect
