Bathrooms - we have a big problem
Well last night I noticed that mushrooms are developing on our cabinet/sink in our bathroom. Mind you this is the original 1950's bathroom that had a quick and easy cheesy 70's make over at one point but hasn't been touched since.
Dh is still insisting to taking 2K we have left in renn funds to do the trees (remove 2, grind stumps, prune 8 tress and have some shrubs removed) instead of putting it for the bathroom so we are praying we get some money back from taxes.
Main question: Anyone use one of those companies listed in the pennysaver who does the 5 x 8 bathroom gut/complete jobs for 5K?
Or do you know someone who can do a complete bathroom for that price? We are going to see what our bil can do for us but want to check prices.

um, seriously? he thinks tree removal is more important than a growing fungus INSIDE your home?? yikes.
I'd put my foot down on that one and use the 2k for your bathroom renovations and then use your tax returns for landscaping. Health over outdoor visuals for me any day.

Re: Bathrooms - we have a big problem
i think those companies use cheap products and over charge. I wouldnt go with them. DH did his parents half bath over with top of the line stuff down to the sheetrock and including crown moulding and it cost just under 2K.
Is your DH handy or have any handy friends?
I would have him/them do what they can and hire someone to do just the things they can't do, maybe lay tile, change any plumbing. But that stuff is much easier then you think it is. Look online on how-to videos and go to the library and get some home reno books on bathrooms. I can't say you can do it all for 2k but you could do it all yourself and save alot of $$$$!!!! you can start by buying things like the toliet, sink, etc now, so your using your now money not your savings. the 2k could be for everything else. I think you could do it. you may not have the BEST selection on a limited budget but you could def. do it!! GL
