I've heard different things from different people, just curious as to what you do...

DD is 5.5months and we've done carrots, peas, prunes, sweet potato, oatmeal, pears

I'm trying to decide when we should try some meats

my DD will be 6 months on january 12 and we haven't even started solids yet. she shows no interest and the ped agreed that i might as well wait for allergy reasons.

ds, on the other hand, was eating barbecue with us by 8 months Chat Icon we were doing stage 1 type foods at 5 months and he was eating just about everything by 7 months.

i always did stage 2, stage 1 really is just a smaller jar so i would just split the stage 2 (it is a big difference in price per ounce)...

meats i started at 6 months

I am so with you...we just buy stage 2 and split...but we haven't done meats or even fruit yet - dd will be 7 mos on the 13th!

Wow - is that true? I always thought each level was thicker than the previous (can't tell you where I came up with that, though). Can I really skip stage 1?

Sorry to hijack!

they really are the same.... ds never had an issue with the stage 2 and he started on them at 6 weeks.... this time around i am not wasting my money on any stage 1s

She said meats after 6 month appt, and 2's is okay now to start (DD is 5.5months). Sounds like we have the same advice. I guess I was just wondering what others are doing.

I don't know why but I'm getting bored with her veggies, and I'm not even the one eating it Chat Icon I can't wait to give DD meat Chat Icon

I haven't had time to make the food myself with the holidays but now I want to start blending/processing myself...

ETA: BTW, cute avatar!!!!

Re: When do you move to stage 2 foods, meats, etc

i went straight to stage 2 at 4 months, and at 5 months we started meats (apples & chicken, sweet pot & turkey, never just plain meat in a jar)
