Decorating help Please (pics)

I need to find something decorative to put on my shelf ceiling. We have a flat screen tv on the wall and in order to run the wires through the ceiling we needed a piece of wood there. There is a blanket over it now but I am completely at a loss. Any suggestions or pics would be greatly appreciated.

sorry, having trouble uploading the pics

Ok this is an older pic, under that tv is now where there is a board that covers the wires for the new flat screen that is on the wall

IMO I would not put anything on the ledge and leave it open.

The tv is on the wall directly under where the tv in the pic is. It is the moving bracket, so we pull it out when we want to watch it.

The only thing that is on the ledge now is a wooden board about the size of the television and about 2 inches thick. So my whole point is I want to cover the board b/c it looks stupid

Ok honestly, Im really having a hard time picturing this board thing and its placement.

And if you dont mind me asking, bc Im genuinely curious, what room is that? Im just having trouble figuring it all out, you have a TV next to the bathroom door at the bottom of the stairs? Im sorry, Im just trying to get my bearings so I can help better.

OK then I would put plants up there. They could be fake if that is easier. Something that is trailing down, so you can cover the wood up enough so you don't notice it. So you could just put the plant right in the corner and the trailing ends could over up the wood probably. Otherwise I really don't know what else you could put there to cover the wood. Can you take a picture with the wood there now? Maybe that would help. Maybe you could paint the wood the color of the wall or white to blend in with the trim. HTH. GL!

Re: Decorating help Please (pics)

So I know this is a totally confusing post. Sorry. This is my master bedroom. It is hard to get pics of the entire room.

We put the flat screen next to the bathroom door, because its a folding bracket, so when we are not watching it it lays flush against the wall but when we want to watch tv in bed it pulls out and turns so we can see it.

Re: Decorating help Please (pics)

oh, ok, I thought it was a hallway or something, LOL.

OK, so now my question is, where the ceiling is angled next to the skylight, do you have wires handing down from there, that then hang straight down and over the edge of the ledge? And you have a piece of wood standing straight up from the ledge that then goes up and touches the ceiling, and behind it are the wires hanging out of the ceiling?
